Melanie has always been fascinated by the workings of the human body.
While teaching in New York City, she practiced yoga and studied massage therapy at the Wholistic Health Center in Manhasset. In 1985, she received her NY State Massage Therapy License. In June 2002, Melanie studied with Alan Finger and completed the Be Yoga 200 hour ISHTA Teacher Training Program. In April 2006, she completed the John Friend 200 hour Anusara Yoga Teacher Training and in May 2011 she completed Jill Miller's Yoga Tune Up Teacher Training. Melanie has recently completed Yamuna’s two-year Body Logic Training and is a certified Yamuna Body Rolling Instructor.
Today, Melanie teaches in various modalities so that people with different learning styles can experience the pleasure of their bodies in each pose. Her goal is to enable people to have sustainable bodies that function as intended – fluid, relaxed and pain- free.
Melanie teaches weekly classes and is also available for private or small group sessions in your home or her Ossining studio (call for address).

Private/Small Groups
In a private Body Logic Session or a Massage, Melanie with her hands assists her clients’ bodies to be free of impact in their bones and tightness in their muscles. She applies gentle traction and traces their muscles from their origins (bones) to their insertions, thereby increasing range of motion and eliminating pain and restriction.
In a private or small group setting, Melanie teaches her clients/students to free themselves of pain and restrictions through one of the following modalities: Body Rolling, Breathing or performing Yoga poses. At times she will combine two or all of the modalities.
